En las tardes calladas del Pueblo Olvido, cuando las hojas secas se arremolinaban entre las tumbas, Bruno encontró una maceta rota tirada junto a un muro. Dentro, apenas quedaba un tallo seco, encogido como si estuviera dormido.
Con paciencia de niño, empezó a cuidarlo: le quitaba la tierra dura con los dedos, lo regaba con agua recogida en un zapato viejo y lo miraba cada día esperando un milagro.
Con el tiempo, de aquel tallo brotó una pequeña planta extraña, con pétalos que se abrían como una boca diminuta...

On the quiet afternoons of Pueblo Olvido, when dry leaves swirled between the graves, Bruno found a broken flowerpot lying next to a wall. Inside, there was barely a dry stem left, curled up as if it were asleep. With the patience of a child, he began to take care of it: he removed the hard dirt with his fingers, watered it with water collected in an old shoe and looked at it every day hoping for a miracle. Over time, a strange little plant sprouted from that stem, with petals that opened like a tiny mouth.
